Inauguration of French Writers Club in Accra.

Bonjour et bienvenue à tous !
On Thursday, 15th May 2025, we had the exciting launch of the French Writers Club right here in Accra, Ghana! The Club was born during the unveiling of two wonderful French storybooks written by children aged 8 to 13, from three different schools in Accra. The titles are:

• Une Journée Mémorable
• L'Excursion à Efua Sutherland Parc

These books are the inspiring results of a Teacher-Learner Workshop we organized. The goal of the French Writers Club is simple but powerful:

• To encourage students to help each other grow in expressing themselves in French
• To celebrate creativity, teamwork, and progress
• To build a supportive space where young writers can shine!

In many parts of Anglophone Africa, French has been taught for years, but often with little impact. This is mainly because we’ve relied too heavily on textbooks. Without engaging storybooks, it's harder for students to truly explore the language and build confidence. That’s why this Club is so special — we’re changing the narrative!

We’re creating a platform where young minds can explore, express, and exchange ideas in French — one story at a time. Look out for different platforms to support and cheer on our young writers as they make magic with words!
