The two Children written storybooks facilitated by Promoworld Educational Consult were exhibited at the recently held West meets East Africa a women entrepreneur organisations forum where AFCFTA had a capacity building workshop and training. This programme which was organised by COMPASS CONSULTING with the support of AFREXIMBANK exposed us to the opportunities for greater exposure for our children storybooks through CANEX, one of the products of AFREXIMBANK for creatives.
The invitation for this exhibition was courtesy our Foundation, Coat of Many Colours Africa an affiliate of African Women’s Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) It is important to mention that the invitation came at a very good time, when we at Promoworld are already deep in a project aimed at developing the French language skills of our children in the English speaking West Africa through the production of Children written storybooks in the French language.
It is our belief that it is high time the language barrier between the people of the two colonised African region be broken for greater collaborations and businesses. That can only be done if we take the responsibility of equipping ourselves especially our children and youth with the spoken language skills of our counterpart. Through our market survey we found that it is much easier to source children especially levelled storybook in the English language than the French storybooks.
We have already started with the production of some children written books with the support of our own schools but we are open to collaborations with more schools, as we also are seeking for more support through funding by worthy personalities and organisations. Our objective is to make French storybook available at very affordable rates in the English speaking West Africa bookshops. That was we would have helped to fill the gap that we see now. Globalisation has to start between us as a region.
